About 1st Choice Heating & Air Conditioning
The 1st Choice group of Companies was started in 1971 by Ed Lauterstein and Irving Gindy. They saw the need to provide San Antonio with a higher level of service for those individuals and companies that utilized refrigerated products to run their businesses.
The need for AC services then became apparent to them when their clients asked them to repair and service their HVAC Systems. The next step would be to provide sales, installation, service, and repair, so 1st Choice Heating & Air Conditioning was born.
In 1998, after graduating college, David Lauterstein joined the company. He was a quick study and soon became an expert in AC system layout and design. His knowledge and commitment to excellence have made him our resident industry expert!
HVAC Systems for new construction projects throughout San Antonio and Surrounding Counties became the main staple of their operation and has made them one of the premier installers of Heating and Air conditioning systems for new homes in San Antonio. As of last year’s new homes built, one in about four new home buyers owns a reliable system installed by 1st Choice Heating & Air Conditioning.

In 2015, Mark Rauschuber joined the business after a 30-year career in the home building business. His knowledge of building science, along with his commitment to Quality, Value, and Service, have made Mark a great addition to our company!
